Chapped Lips: 3 Miracle Ingredients to Treat Them

The winter was pretty rude, especially for our skin and lips. In fact, our lips’ skin is one of the most delicate part of our body. Thus, one has to pay a big attention to this body part and moisturize it as much as possible. Here are some recipes to protect dry and chapped lips.

Shea butter

Harvested from shea nut, the butter of the same name acts as a moisturizer, repairer and protector. Apply a film of shea butter to your chapped lips and let it work. You will immediately feel a sense of relief. The butter will soften your lips and release the tension between the torn tissues. Repeat the operation several times
per day.
You can also prepare a shea balm. To do this, melt 15 g of shea butter in a bain-marie. Out of the fire, gradually add 10 ml of jojoba oil. Pour the mixture into a small pot and allow to cool. When the mixture has hardened, apply it on your lips with your finger. You can keep the balm for 2 months.

Honey

The product of the bees is a famous healer. Enjoy this sweet treatment for a few minutes a day, and your chapped lips will be grateful. To do this, take a thin layer of honey and apply it directly to your lips, without giving in to the temptation to lick them! Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse gently with a cotton soaked in warm water.

Vegetable oils

Coconut oil, avocado oil or olive oil … these vegetable oils have a miraculous action. Coconut oil is the most silky. In addition to protecting your lips, it softens and nourishes them deeply. The other oils create a thick protective barrier against cold and humidity, leaving an incredible softness. Just drop a few drops on your finger that you apply to your lips.
